Hello friend!

I fear that you and I have an essential difference in the way that we consume media and entertainment.  You seem to believe that critique implies a lack of enjoyment, while I believe that critique is an extremely important part of the process of consumption.  I feel that way about nearly anything that I consume- food, knowledge, and entertainment.

You also seem to believe that because a show is fantastical, it does not warrant critique.  Because the situations are other-worldly and, occasionally, silly, that criticism is both unnecessary and irrelevant.

I couldn’t disagree with you more, unfortunately.  One of the central tenets of Science Fiction and Fantasy literature and entertainment is the opportunity for the viewer/consumer to examine their own culture and generally held beliefs from a different perspective.  Critique and analysis are extremely important parts of this!

I do, however, understand if you prefer not to read criticism.  That is your right as a consumer.  My recommendation would be to download the xkit application and blacklist the title of my blog, and probably several other tags such as “dw crit,” “moffat crit,” and “anti-moffat.”  These are the tags that I, personally, use, though there are others.  The blacklist function will remove those entries from the tags that you are looking through.

I assume that this stems either from the analysis of the Doctor’s role in River Song’s character development that I wrote a few days ago, which was tagged as “dw meta,” “dw crit,” “anti-moffat,” “anti-eleven,” and “anti-river,” or it stems from the script reads that I did a few weeks back that were all under a read-me and explicitly stated in the title that I would be complaining about the scripts.

I would like to be able to make your Tumblr experience as comfortable as possible, so please do let me know if you have any further suggestions for me in making certain that my opinions do not interrupt your time on the internet.  I am happy to make any change except censoring myself.  I fear that I will not agree to that, but any lesser request I will do my best to comply with.

I do appreciate you dropping by and hope that you have a lovely day!

Or just someone to, like, take him in hand when it comes to brainstorming.

"Here, Steven, let’s put all your ideas up here on this corkboard.  Yes, Steven, they’re very good ideas.  Alright, is that all of them?  Okay, good.  Now choose two.  And one of them has to be character development.  No, Steven, not five.  Two.  No, Steven, ‘SHE’S A MYSTERY’ does not count for character development.  Neither does ‘SHE’S SEXY WITH A GUN’, try again."
